A little rant I have about duh-isms. For those of you who aren't my friends (poor fools) a duh-ism is one of those stupid warnings on the products we buy. For example, the warning on a coffee maker that says "Caution - Surface is hot." Of course its hot, anyone over the age of four knows its hot. Its just a message of how sue-happy our society has become. Has the average persons intelligence really gotten that slow as to having a need to be warned of anything that could be remotely dangerous? Has common sense totally disappeared? Maybe it has, maybe not. People today are looking to better their own financial situation. What they don't realize is that after lying so much that they finally believe themselves, they haven't hurt the corporation much at all and they have only made things difficult and sometimes more costly for others. Oh well, I have the right to sue and cause another legal problem that will tie up lawyers and judges for many months and possibly years. To those who would sue for something, I say stop and consider the consequences. Is this worth it? Do I really want to spend the next months in court? DoI really need the hassles of prolonged lawsuits? Most of the time, the answer is probably NO!
A minor side note, some corporations employ the same thoughts that sue-happy individuals do. Curious, go check out WWW.REZNOR.COM to find out what Im talking about.
